Pursuant to a delegation of authority from the President, I’m authorizing our 13th drawdown of palms and kit from U.S. Department of Defense inventories for Ukraine’s protection since August 2021, of as much as $450 million. This authorization will convey general U.S. safety help to Ukraine to greater than $6.1 billion since Russia introduced its brutal, unprovoked, full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
The secure waft of U.S. safety help, and that from our coalition of greater than 40 Allies and companions, continues to reinforce Ukraine’s defenses, make stronger its talent to protect its sovereign territory, and safe hard-fought victories at the battlefield. We have imposed swift and serious sanctions on Russia’s financial system and the elite of President Putin’s regime. We have enhanced NATO’s talent to discourage and protect towards any aggression through Russia on its Eastern Flank. And we will be able to proceed to ship the most important army features to Ukraine’s courageous defenders.
Ukraine is status sturdy. We proceed to face united with Ukraine.
