FBI investigating attempts to impersonate White House chief of staff Susie Wiles – real news hub

The FBI is investigating a scheme to impersonate White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, involving text messages and phone calls sent to prominent Republicans, including senators, governors, and business executives, from an unknown individual or group posing as Wiles. The impersonator reportedly accessed contacts from Wiles’ personal cellphone, not her government-issued device, and used artificial intelligence to mimic her voice in some calls. Suspicious messages included requests for cash transfers, lists of potential pardons, and questions about President Donald Trump that Wiles would likely know, raising red flags due to grammatical errors or inconsistent language. The FBI, led by Director Kash Patel, is treating the matter as a top cybersecurity priority, with no evidence suggesting foreign government involvement. Wiles, a key Trump advisor and former 2024 campaign manager, has urged contacts to disregard these messages. The White House is cooperating with the investigation, emphasizing the importance of secure communication for administration officials.
