Haryana to slash VAT on aviation turbine gas to 1% from 20%

New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday stated after assembly Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia that the worth added tax (VAT) on aviation turbine gas (ATF) in Haryana could be lowered from 20 per cent to 1 per cent.

Khattar stated the proposal to scale back VAT on ATF has been accepted. He added that in the course of the assembly, they mentioned varied civil aviation initiatives associated to Haryana, reminiscent of Hisar Airport, Gurgaon Helihab, Karnal and Ambala Airports, Pilot Coaching College, and many others.

Khattar stated Haryana’s Hisar airport, which is presently underneath upgradation, could be prepared in two years. He stated land is proposed in Gurgaon for Halihub. When prepared, HeliHub will enhance inter-city and intracity helicopter motion on account of its proximity to Delhi Airport. This can cut back the strain of VIP motion at Delhi Airport.

Earlier, Scindia had urged the states and union territories to rationalize the speed of 1 to 4 per cent on ATF to hurry up air journey. He wrote letters to 22 states and union territories, together with Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
