Irresponsible use of credit cards results in bigger debts and far more serious debts than financial debts. Do you want to fix your debt situation?
It shocks me when I read about the astonishing and astonishing amounts of money being squandered by individuals and families these days.
Many years ago at Perth Academy our English master taught us and said that we should never get into debt. I didn’t know what he meant at the time but now I know and remember and thank you.
This is the result of a much deeper and more fundamental need in our lives and that is basically what I want to share with you in this article.
Jesus Christ did much more than split our calendar into BC and AD
Through the cross and resurrection Jesus offers complete forgiveness for everything I have ever done wrong, freely, immediately, and completely. that is good news.
How would you react if someone paid off all the debt on your credit card for free, instantly and in full?
God erased the charges against us and canceled the record of every time we disobeyed God’s commandments. Jesus took our guilt in his own body and nailed it to the cross. This can be quite a long list for many of us.
We are also being offered the healing power of Jesus.
The deepest wounds in our lives are not always physical. We can see them normally.
Jesus personally took our sins in His body on the cross so that we could die in the grip of sin in our lives, and be free to live rightly.
Sin is a word that is rarely mentioned among ‘polite company’ these days – whatever ‘polite company’ may be.
Jesus Christ died to forgive us and save us, but He also died to heal us.
Jesus ministered in towns and villages, taught in Jewish synagogues, preached the gospel of the kingdom, and healed every disease and infirmity.
He felt pity when he saw people distressed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd.
God didn’t need special circumstances to work through Jesus. Doctor Luke tells us that even when the Pharisees and other critics were sitting around Jesus, the power of the Lord was still present to heal the sick.
He continued to heal and mend broken bodies; those who were in pain or disease; disease free.
One person recently heard that diseased and thus did not realize what it really means to be diseased. He found it most helpful.
Jesus is either healing the sick, healing the sick, or visiting someone who needs his healing power.
There are various areas in our lives that need the healing touch of the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ.
