Karatsev beats Murray for Sydney title

World No. 20 Aslan Karatsev defeated Andy Murray 6-3, 6-3 in a single hour and 31 minutes within the Sydney Traditional closing on Saturday.

The No. 1 seed hit 29 winners in a near-perfect efficiency that saved three-time Grand Slam champion Murray away from the solutions.

World No. 9 Paula Badosa of Spain defeated French Open champion Barbora Krajicova 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (4) in two hours and 22 minutes to win the ladies’s title with 32 winners and 12 aces.

In Adelaide, American Madison Keys defeated compatriot Allison Threat 6-1, 6-2 to assert the Adelaide Worldwide Ladies’s title.

The boys’s title went to native boy Thanasi Kokkinakis, who claimed the primary ATP title by defeating fellow big-server Arthur Rinderkanech 6-7 (6), 7-6 (5), 6-3.
