Renaissance Energy meets NLNG gas supply obligations for the first time in five years

Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited has successfully met its contractual gas supply obligations to Nigeria LNG (NLNG) for the first time in over five years, as announced by CEO Tony Attah at the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ 2025 Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition in Lagos. This milestone, achieved within 140 days of acquiring Shell’s shares in the former Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) for $2.4 billion in March 2025, marks a significant step in Nigeria’s energy sector. The acquisition included SPDC’s 30% stake in 18 Oil Mining Leases in the Niger Delta. Attah attributed the success to extensive collaboration with government and industry stakeholders, which also led to a 40% increase in oil production. Renaissance aims to enhance energy security and drive sustainable industrialization in Nigeria and across Africa.
