New York, June 18, 2026 — Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The highly anticipated open-world game, set in a modern Vice City-inspired world and starring protagonists Lucia and Jason, has been one of the most eagerly awaited titles in gaming history.
Release Date Update and Pre-Order Details
In a statement posted on their official website, Rockstar Games announced the new date after previously targeting May 26, 2026. The studio cited the need for additional time to deliver the level of polish players expect.
“These extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” Rockstar said in the update.
Pre-orders for GTA 6 will officially begin on June 25, 2026, across major digital storefronts and select retailers. The company also released official cover art for the game, which is now available for download.

With approximately 155 days remaining until launch as of mid-June 2026, anticipation continues to build. Rockstar has been relatively quiet since releasing the second trailer in May 2025, but insiders expect a major marketing push to begin in the coming weeks.
