With no age restrictions, the top women footballers from around the world are ready to represent their respective national teams in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Games. The women’s football tournament will begin on Wednesday, July 21, two days before the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Games, and conclude on August 6.

Zambia will have their Shanghai Shangli striker Barbara Banda at its best to achieve Olympic pride in women’s football in Tokyo. Banda became a sensation in women’s football when she scored 15 goals in 28 games for Spanish club Logrono while they were fighting a relationship. After her heroism in Spain, she was signed by Chinese team Shanghai Shangli in January 2020 and she still has not stopped scoring.
She was the leading scorer in the Chinese Women’s Super League in 2020 with 18 goals.
Deborah Cristian de Oliveira, also known as Debinha, is another player to watch. He is a two-time NSWL champion. She was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2019 Championship Game. The Brazilian striker was once a U.S. citizen. Described as “one of the best players in the world” by women’s national team boss Vlatko Andonovsky. Her ability to create opportunities in thin air, her lightning and killer passes.
Chilean Olympic Lyonnais goalkeeper Christian Andler is considered by many to be one of the best ball stoppers in the world. She was also named in the FIFPro World XI last year. During 2020-21, she was in incredible form as she recorded 19 clean sheets for Paris Saint-Germain in 22 games and led her to her first French league title in the process.
He recently signed with PSG rivals and seven-time European champion Lyon.
New Zealand defender Abby Erseg may not be as popular as American and European footballers but he is considered one of the most decorated players in the football world. Erseg is a three-time NWSL Championship winner and was named the 2018 Defender of the Tournament of the Year.
Swedish right-back Henna Glass jogged media headlines last year after his sensational performance with Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Munich boss Jens Skier was so impressed with her performance that she labeled him “one of the best right backs in the world”.
