Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, known for his discipline and perfectionism, made headlines with a candid confession about his 60th birthday celebration on March 14, 2025. In an interview with Mashable India, Khan revealed he got so drunk at his birthday bash that he experienced a complete memory blackout, forgetting the entire night despite appearing to behave normally at the time.
The intimate party, organized by his daughter Ira Khan, ex-wife Reena Dutta, and close friends, was meant to be a memorable milestone. Khan, who had significantly reduced his alcohol consumption to near zero, was persuaded by guests to have a drink to mark the occasion. “I’m an extreme person,” he admitted, explaining that since he wasn’t used to drinking, the alcohol hit him hard and fast. “We started around 7 p.m., and by 9 p.m., I knew I was flying,” he said, laughing. The next morning, Khan woke up with no recollection of the evening, despite photos and videos showing him responding to heartfelt speeches from loved ones.
Khan’s history with alcohol adds context to the incident. He previously shared that after his 2002 divorce from Reena Dutta, he fell into a deep depression, drinking heavily for about a year and a half, consuming an entire bottle daily. Having since quit alcohol, his 60th birthday indulgence was an exception that led to unexpected consequences.
The actor, currently promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, set for release on June 20, 2025, took the incident in stride, humorously noting, “It was a memorable day, just not for me.” The film, a remake of the Spanish movie Campeones, features Khan alongside neurodivergent actors and marks his return to the big screen.
Khan also introduced his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to the media around his birthday, confirming their year-long relationship. Despite the blackout, the celebration was a star-studded affair, with reports suggesting A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were among the guests.
