Bajaj Auto’s September Surge: Two-Wheelers Lead the Charge at Home and Abroad

If you’re into motorcycles or just keeping tabs on the auto world, Bajaj Auto’s latest numbers might catch your eye. The Indian two-wheeler giant saw a nice bump in sales for September 2025, with total units hitting 510,504 – that’s a solid 9% jump from the 469,531 they moved last year at this time. Even compared to August’s 417,616, it feels like momentum is building.

Breaking it down, the star of the show was two-wheelers, which make up the bulk of their business. At home in India, they sold 273,188 units, up 5% from September 2024’s 259,333. Folks seem to be snapping up those Pulsars and other models for daily rides. Overseas, exports really kicked it up a notch, climbing 12% to 157,665 bikes from 141,156 the year before. All in, two-wheeler sales totaled 430,853, an 8% gain over last year’s 400,489. Not bad for a market that’s always shifting.

Commercial vehicles held their own too, though domestic sales dipped a touch to 52,064 units, down 1% from 52,554. But exports? They exploded by 67% to 27,587 from just 16,488. That pushed total CV sales to 79,651, a 15% rise from 69,042. Overall, domestic figures grew 4% to 325,252, while exports jumped 18% to 185,252. It’s clear global demand is helping offset any local slowdowns.

Zooming out to the first half of the fiscal year (April through September), Bajaj’s cumulative sales reached 2,405,357 units across two-wheelers and CVs – a 4% increase from 2,323,560 last year. Two-wheelers domestically took a hit, down 8% to 1,125,920 from 1,219,298, but exports soared 17% to 891,858, lifting the category total by 2% to 2,017,778.

CVs shone brighter: domestic up 1% to 249,681, exports up a whopping 51% to 137,898, for a 14% segment gain to 387,579. Total domestic sales slipped 6% to 1,375,601, but exports rose 20% to 1,029,756. It’s a mixed bag, but that export growth suggests Bajaj’s got legs for the road ahead. Keep an eye on how festive season plays out – could be a game-changer.
