Bully Ray, a WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of “Busted Open Radio,” recently expressed strong criticism regarding a specific storyline in WWE NXT involving Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe, formerly known as Mariah May. On the August 25, 2025 episode of “Busted Open,” he reacted to a segment where Monroe fled from Grace through the arena, exiting via a back door into a waiting car.
Bully Ray questioned the logic behind this angle, stating, “What the f**k were they thinking?” He found the scenario implausible, particularly the part where Grace, unable to confront Monroe directly, proceeded to overpower three large security guards. Despite acknowledging Grace’s strength—she’s known for bench-pressing significant weight—Bully Ray argued that her smaller stature made the scene of her dominating much larger opponents unrealistic, stating, “She’s not beating up three huge dudes and clotheslining dudes over the top rope and throwing guys around.” This critique highlights his concern that the booking stretched believability, undermining the storyline’s credibility.
