ChooseMyRewards: The New Chase Credit Card Rewards…

[ad_1]

In previous articles, I’ve discussed travel, cashback, interest-savings, and merchant rewards programs. These rewards cards are tailored for specific people based on the type of rewards they want to earn.

For those who are indecisive or have different rewards interests at different times of the year, they should be interested in the Chase ChooseMyRewards program. This program includes two different flagship cards, the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa and the Chase Flexible Rewards Visa. Both the cards offer 0% APR for 1 year and a lower APR thereafter. However, statistics show that the approval rate is higher for the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa.

Let us take a minute to explain the ChooseMyRewards program. Like any other rewards program, there is a point system for both cards. You get one point for every dollar spent on purchases with each card. When these points are accumulated, you have the option of redeeming them for various items or cash. Here is what sets these two cards apart from all other programs. At any time, you can log into the ChooseMyRewards page on Chase servers to choose the types of rewards you want to receive. Options include up to 5% cashback on merchandise, restaurant gift certificates, retail gift certificates, travel rewards, and purchases with the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa.

Many other rewards programs make it very difficult for the consumer to redeem rewards, let alone choose them. Typically, you will have to call the company, wait on hold to be contacted by the appropriate customer service representative, and then list your options before they can process your decision. Not so with the ChooseMyRewards program. In the mail with your new Chase card, you will receive a login PIN number and web address where you can access your rewards account. After entering your PIN number, you can see the points earned and a list of all rewards options. You can then scroll through the list of options and choose the rewards you want to avail.

It only gets better. Let’s say you get logged out of your account after choosing your prize and realize you probably didn’t want the Home Depot gift certificate you signed up for. Instead you may want a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant. All you have to do is simply log back in and switch your rewards redemption. It is a very simple and painless process and gives you, the consumer, more control.

Many people save their points until the end of the year, since they never expire, and redeem their points to give gift certificates as holiday gifts. Others travel to warmer places during the winter. Others simply trump on cashback rewards in the form of cheques. Whatever your interests may be, or if they change, enrolling in the ChooseMyRewards program will make your rewards management more user-friendly and thus, much easier.
