Danhausen Lifts Curse On WWE Referee Following SmackDown Tag Title Match Interference

That’s a hilarious bit of WWE chaos from last night’s SmackDown (April 3, 2026)!

Danhausen, the “very nice, very evil” one, keeps delivering comedy gold since his debut. He tried to curse The Miz during the WWE Tag Team Championship match, but Miz used poor referee Dan Engler as a human shield. The curse hit Engler’s counting arm instead, giving him a sudden, dramatic cramp right as Miz went for the pin on R-Truth after a Skull Crushing Finale.

Engler couldn’t finish the three-count with his usual arm, creating perfect confusion. Damian Priest capitalized by tagging in and hitting a South of Heaven on Miz. Engler then used his good (left) arm to count the pinfall, allowing R-Truth and Priest to retain the titles.

Backstage, Danhausen owned up to the mistake (“Sorry, that was meant for The Miz”) and lifted the curse for free with a shoulder slap and his classic flair: “Usually I charge a monetary human money fee… but this one’s on Danhausen!” The ref was instantly fine again. Classic Danhausen — accidental chaos followed by a quick fix.

This segment was pure fun, especially with Miz and Kit Wilson already dealing with Danhausen’s previous “curses.” It added some levity to the show while keeping the tag titles on Truth & Priest.

Did you catch the full segment? What did you think of Danhausen’s latest antics? ?
