Dubai to Host 5th Accessible Travel and Tourism International Conference in October 2025

Dubai, UAE, September 3, 2025 — Dubai is set to solidify its position as a global leader in inclusive tourism by hosting the 5th edition of the Accessible Travel and Tourism International Conference (ATTIC-2025) on October 7–8, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, the conference aims to advance legislation, policies, infrastructure, and services to meet the needs of over 1.3 billion People of Determination worldwide.

A Global Platform for Accessibility

The ATTIC-2025 will bring together high-level officials, policymakers, and experts from international organizations such as UN Tourism, Airports Council International (ACI World), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), alongside key figures from the travel, tourism, mobility, and marketing sectors. The event will focus on enhancing accessibility in air, land, and sea transportation, as well as accommodation and hospitality, to ensure People of Determination can travel with ease and dignity.

A dedicated session, “Lessons from Dubai,” will showcase the emirate’s pioneering achievements in accessible tourism. Speakers from Emirates Airlines, Dubai Airports, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and the Department of Economy and Tourism will highlight initiatives that have earned Dubai recognition as the first Certified Autism Destination™ in the Eastern Hemisphere and positioned its airport and airline as global benchmarks for inclusivity.

Addressing a Growing Market

With an estimated 257 million tourists actively seeking accessible destinations, as reported by the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT), the global accessible tourism market is projected to generate €88.6 billion by 2025, according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). In the Middle East alone, over 50 million People of Determination represent a significant opportunity for economic growth and job creation in the tourism sector.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum emphasized Dubai’s commitment to inclusivity, stating, “This conference brings together decision-makers and experts to share insights and highlight Dubai and the UAE’s accomplishments in accessibility and inclusion. Our efforts reflect the UAE’s vision to become the world’s leading destination for tourists with disabilities.”

Dubai’s Leadership in Accessible Tourism

Dubai has made significant strides in aligning its tourism ecosystem with the needs of People of Determination. The emirate’s advanced infrastructure, comprehensive policies, and exceptional services have positioned it as a model for accessible travel. Notable achievements include:

  • Autism-Friendly Certification: Dubai’s designation as a Certified Autism Destination™ reflects its commitment to inclusive tourism.
  • Inclusive Infrastructure: Emirates Airlines and Dubai Airports have implemented cutting-edge accessibility measures, from sensory-friendly facilities to staff training for assisting passengers with disabilities.
  • Policy Frameworks: The UAE’s focus on legislation and urban planning ensures that attractions, hotels, and transportation systems are barrier-free.

The conference will also address challenges faced by the 1.3 billion People of Determination globally, a figure projected to reach 2 billion by 2050, according to the UN World Health Organization. Discussions will cover best practices in hospitality, transportation, and infrastructure to create seamless travel experiences for this growing demographic.

A Call to Action

Organized by Nadd Al Shiba PR & Event Management, ATTIC-2025 builds on the success of previous editions, including the 4th conference held in January 2024, which drew over 450 industry leaders. The event offers a platform for networking, sharing global best practices, and exploring innovative solutions to position cities and venues as top choices for accessible tourism.

Sheikh Ahmed called for international collaboration, stating, “The UAE is on the path to becoming the world’s best destination for tourism services. I urge global stakeholders to join us in ensuring accessible tourism for over a billion people worldwide.”

Economic and Social Impact

The conference aligns with Dubai’s broader vision to enhance its competitiveness as a friendly tourist destination, supporting the national economy by attracting an estimated 120 million tourists with disabilities, who account for 10% of global travelers. By fostering inclusive tourism, Dubai aims to create thousands of jobs and drive economic growth while empowering People of Determination to explore the world freely.

As Dubai prepares to welcome global leaders to ATTIC-2025, the emirate continues to set the standard for accessible tourism, proving that inclusivity and innovation can transform the travel industry for all.
