Electric Car Parts – What Are the Main Parts of Electric…

[ad_1]

Electric cars are different from fuel-powered cars. They have an ingenious driving system that provides the energy needed to keep these cars running on the roads for a reasonable amount of time. Whether it is a golf cart, RV, trike or any other electric powered vehicle, its system must have three main electric car parts, the motor, the controller and the battery.

The electric motor is the most important of all electric car parts in your vehicle. It is the part responsible for propelling the car and comes in three popular types, DC wound, permanent magnet DC and AC motors. AC is the most complex but at the same time it is the most efficient. It is commonly used in vehicles that require extra power to accelerate and climb steep hills. On the other hand, DC wound is the simplest and easiest electric motor to install, but it produces less power than AC. It is sometimes preferred because of its low cost.

Number two on the important electric car parts is the battery. While some cars use standard car batteries as a source of energy, more advanced ones use Ni batteries as a more efficient power source that provides additional range for the vehicle. They require less time to charge and provide more energy for the attached motor.

The third part of electric car parts is the controller and this part is responsible for power management, it senses the amount of energy needed by the motor and supplies it directly from the battery to make the car move. The controller is very important as it synchronizes the operation of both the motor and the battery.
