Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has expressed support for subpoenaing Jeffrey Epstein’s estate for documents beyond the reported “birthday book,” which allegedly contains a 2003 birthday message from then-citizen Donald Trump. Massie, aligning with Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna, advocates for releasing comprehensive Epstein-related records, including financial records and details of the plea bargain, to uncover the full scope of the case. He emphasized the need for transparency, stating, “We should get a lot more than just the book. Let’s get the financial records of the estate. Where is it — follow the money, as they say up here.” Massie is pushing a bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act with a discharge petition to force a House vote, which has gained support from both parties, including GOP Reps. Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene. The petition requires 218 signatures to bypass House leadership and could lead to a vote in September 2025 after the August recess.
