How Much Do You Know About Credit Unions Of Jamaica?

[ad_1]

Credit unions of Jamaica are dedicated to fulfilling the mission that governs them. This mission reads:

Objective

Jamaica Credit Union is dedicated to:

  • To improve the quality of life of its members and to finance economic freedom.
  • To provide high quality financial services to the members.
  • To provide competitive financial services to the members.
  • Providing responsible advice to members to secure their savings and investments.
  • To act with integrity in accordance with the Co-operative Societies Act and Regulations.
  • Responding to the needs of the community within the framework of a cooperative structure.

Unions operate on a very different platform from banks and this is why more and more Jamaicans are moving towards becoming “Member”,

All of Jamaica’s different unions are part of a movement that puts them under one umbrella. Here is a glimpse of this movement…

Company Overview

Jamaica’s credit union movement began with Father John P. Sullivan, who spearheaded the creation of Jamaica’s first credit union – the Sodality Co-operative Credit Union Limited.

Today, the movement has grown to 38 unions located across the island, all represented by the umbrella brand, Credit Union of Jamaica (CUJ), Your Path to Financial Freedom!

After all the initial framework is complete, let me provide you with a list (not very comprehensive) of some of the unions operating in Jamaica.
