Karoline Leavitt Rushes to Flaunt Good News About Trump, Then the Internet Digs Up Something She’s Been Saying for Years and It Gets Awkward Fast

CNN Data Analyst Highlights 100% MAGA Approval for Trump in NBC Poll, Sparking White House Celebration and Online Debate

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt seized on a CNN segment highlighting strong loyalty within President Donald Trump’s core base, sharing the clip on social media after analyst Harry Enten pointed out that self-identified MAGA Republicans gave Trump a perfect 100% approval rating in a recent NBC News poll.

During the March 18-19, 2026, appearance on CNN, Enten called the figure one of those poll numbers that “jump off the screen,” noting that zero percent of MAGA respondents disapproved of Trump’s performance. He compared the level of support to the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins and emphasized that the MAGA coalition appears slightly larger than it was in 2024, with no signs of shrinking despite ongoing debates over issues like the conflict with Iran.

Leavitt quickly amplified the segment, posting: “CNN data guru reveals Trump’s base is expanding with 100% approval from MAGA Republicans,” alongside photos of the president. The post drew mixed reactions online, with some supporters celebrating the unity while critics pointed out the administration’s frequent criticism of CNN as “fake news” and questioned whether the poll truly captured broader sentiment.

Enten was careful to frame the result narrowly: it applied specifically to those who self-identify as MAGA within the Republican Party. Broader polls released around the same time show Trump’s overall approval rating hovering in the low-to-mid 30s to low 40s, with significant disapproval of his handling of the Iran conflict among the general public and even some independents.

Politico and other outlets have reported growing fractures within the wider Trump coalition — which includes not just hardcore MAGA voters but also disillusioned Democrats, independents, tech supporters, and “MAHA” (Make America Healthy Again) voters. Issues such as the ongoing Iran war (which Trump campaigned against foreign entanglements), immigration enforcement, and economic pressures have sparked internal debates and some high-profile pushback on the right.

Some self-described longtime MAGA supporters pushed back on social media, saying the poll did not reflect their views, particularly regarding U.S. involvement in Iran. Others noted that while core MAGA remains loyal, the broader 2024 winning coalition that delivered Trump’s victory could be showing signs of strain heading into the 2026 midterms.

The NBC poll result provided a rare bright spot for the administration amid a challenging news cycle dominated by the Iran conflict, rising energy prices, and fluctuating approval numbers. Trump’s team has leaned into the strong base support to counter narratives of division.

As midterms approach, political observers will watch whether the intense loyalty among self-identified MAGA voters can offset any erosion among swing voters and the expanded 2024 coalition. For now, the 100% figure among the core base has given the White House and its allies a clear talking point to highlight unity within Trump’s most dedicated supporters.
