Kia India’s September Sales Climb to 22,700 Units Amid GST Tweaks and Festive Excitement

Hey folks, if you’ve been keeping an eye on the auto world, especially in India, there’s some good news from Kia. Last month, in September 2025, the company moved 22,700 vehicles domestically. That’s a slight dip of 3.5% from the 23,523 units they sold back in September 2024. But don’t let that fool you—compared to August 2025’s 19,608 units, this represents a solid 15.8% jump month-over-month. Things are looking up.

A big part of this boost comes from recent changes to India’s GST system, which have made cars a bit more wallet-friendly by simplifying taxes. Add in the start of the festive season, and you’ve got folks feeling more upbeat about buying. Kia’s lineup is hitting the right notes too, with crowd-pleasers like the Sonet, Carens (including the new Clavis variant), Seltos, Syros, and the spacious Carnival drawing in buyers who want comfort, fresh tech, and standout features in their segment.

Looking at the bigger picture, for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (that’s July through September), Kia clocked 65,460 units sold. It’s just a tad higher than the 65,330 from the same period last year, showing basically flat growth at 0.2%. Steady as she goes, right? And year-to-date, from January to September 2025, they’ve racked up 206,582 units, a healthy 7.2% increase over the 192,690 from the same stretch in 2024. Models like the Seltos and Sonet are leading the charge, alongside the Carnival that’s been making waves since its launch.

Atul Sood, Kia’s Senior VP for Sales and Marketing in India, shared his take: “September was a key moment for us, thanks to those GST updates and the holiday shopping vibe. The easier tax setup has made our cars more accessible, pulling in more customers to our range. It’s all about the faith people have in our brand, our smart designs packed with features, and our push for better driving experiences.”

On top of that, Kia shipped out 2,606 units for export in September, proving they’re not just focused at home but growing their reach worldwide. With an eye on tech, comfort, and greener options, Kia is keeping things practical and appealing for everyday drivers. If you’re in the market, it might be worth checking out what they’ve got going on.
