Mahindra’s September 2025 Sales Surge: SUVs Hit All-Time High of 56K, Total Tops 100K
Folks, if you’re keeping tabs on the Indian auto scene, Mahindra just dropped some impressive numbers for September 2025 that show the SUV craze isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The company racked up total vehicle sales of 100,298 units, including exports—a solid 16% jump from last year. That’s right, they crossed the one lakh mark for the first time in a month, thanks to a festive boost and some smart policy tweaks.
The real star here? SUVs. Domestic sales hit a record 56,233 units, up 10% year-over-year and the highest monthly figure Mahindra’s ever posted for passenger vehicles. Throw in exports, and overall SUV numbers climb to 58,714. This beat their previous peak of 54,504 from October 2024, all fueled by the Navratri festival landing early this year. Dealer reports show over 60% growth in SUV retails during the first nine days of the festival compared to last year—pent-up demand meets GST rate cuts, and boom, lines at showrooms.
Commercial vehicles didn’t lag either, with domestic sales at 26,728 units, a healthy 18% rise. That includes lighter trucks and a whopping 13,017 three-wheelers, up 30% and showing Mahindra’s push into last-mile delivery stays strong. Exports jumped 43% to 4,320 units, helping pad the totals.
Year-to-date through September, SUVs are up 14% at 297,570 units, and overall exports have grown 38%. Sure, trailer shortages crimped some deliveries late in the month, but Mahindra’s CEO says they’re ramping up to keep the momentum going into Diwali. In a market where Tata’s Nexon stole the top-seller crown, Mahindra’s volume play is paying off big. If this holds, expect even hotter competition in the SUV wars ahead.
