Mid Life Career Change: Madness or Promising Opportunity

[ad_1]

Many of us are facing many challenges while going through life and our highly developed environment. In my case, like millions of workers around the world, finally reached the stage of middle age and constantly faced a very complicated social and economic environment.

After a life long career in the lending industry I realized that my experience and knowledge has never been so sharp; Today I can say that I am on top of my game. Due to my current professional activities as a Freelance Senior Underwriter and Business Consultant I am continually retained by Lenders, Private Investors, Entrepreneurs and Realtor/Brokers, which allows me to gauge my level of knowledge and experience when it comes to my Clients request my services to develop a lot. complex projects.

You might be wondering how all of the above is related to the title of my article and here is the answer.

There are a lot of valuable and productive people out there, many of whom find themselves working for minimum wage or holding jobs that no one else wants. But they all have one thing in common:

They are on top of their game! The experience and knowledge they have gained over time make them a valuable asset to any organization “willing” to acknowledge their potential and true value.

The cold truth is that most organizations have inexperienced people running their HR departments and many times their internal policies avoid older people under the mistaken belief that their ability to be productive will be compromised because of their age.

So my inspiration to write this article was group of people who are in their midlife career phase and eager to find some kind of opportunity to leverage their knowledge and experience. Unfortunately, there aren’t many opportunities out there.

16 years ago I met David M., a former director of a commercial mortgage banker based in Houston. I was recovering from a back injury and my doctor advised that a career change was necessary because of my new limitations. At some point during a casual phone conversation, I mentioned my situation and my obvious concerns to David. After exchanging various views he asked me if I would be willing to learn the basics on commercial lending and business finance. I said yes and today I know it was the best decision I ever made.

I found a life-changing career opportunity in the lending industry and today, almost 17 years later, I am still enjoying the rewards of a highly productive professional activity.

The many benefits and awards that I have received over the years have inspired me to share my experience and knowledge. That’s why I developed a simple tool that anyone, even those with no previous experience or knowledge in the lending industry, can easily learn the basics of commercial real estate finance and start a productive and rewarding career. can initiate change. My publication can be found on Amazon books under the title “Commercial Real Estate Finance: Training for Novices”.

Some of you may be thinking that mid-life career change is madness or a promising opportunity: Well the difference is if you do nothing to improve your life or if you decide to take some steps forward. Make a decision and decide to pursue a promising opportunity Opportunity. Stay away from sales and multi-layered schemes that will never get you anywhere.

If you feel like you’re ready to give it a try, you might find the lending industry a legitimate source of income and a solid career change opportunity.

It worked for me and is a great option if you have the determination and discipline to reach your personal goals.

Bottom line: It’s never too late! Your life can get better and opportunities are out there, you just need to reach for them.

Be blessed and I wish you a great success!
