TVS Raider 125 Gets Major Upgrade: Boost Mode and Dual Disc Brakes Now Available
TVS Motor Company has just launched two new premium variants of its popular Raider 125 scooter— the TFT Dual Disc and SXC Dual Disc—bringing segment-first features like Boost Mode for instant power surges and dual disc brakes with single-channel ABS for superior stopping power. These updates make the Raider the first 125cc motorcycle in India to combine these technologies, enhancing both performance and safety in the entry-level commuter segment.
Key New Features
- Boost Mode: Powered by iGO Assist technology, this on-demand feature delivers a class-leading 11.75 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, providing punchy acceleration (0-60 km/h in just 5.8 seconds) for overtakes or quick starts. It’s ideal for urban riding where you need that extra kick without compromising efficiency.
- Dual Disc Brakes: Front 240mm petal disc paired with a rear disc and single-channel ABS ensures better stability, shorter braking distances, and rider confidence— a major upgrade from the single-disc setups in base models.
- Glide Through Technology (GTT): Allows effortless low-speed maneuvering in traffic without constant throttle input, improving fuel economy and ease of use.
- Riding Modes: Three options—Boost (for max acceleration), Power (higher top speed), and Eco (optimized mileage)—let riders tailor performance to their needs.
- Connectivity and Tech: Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect with voice assist for navigation, call management, and notifications. The TFT variant gets a full-color TFT display with 99+ connected features, while SXC uses a reverse LCD with 85+ features. Plus, a Follow Me Headlamp for added convenience.
- Other Enhancements: Wider tyres (90/90-17 front, 110/80-17 rear) for better grip, a sporty design with LED headlamp, and Sync Braking Technology for balanced control.
The core 124.8cc, 3-valve, air/oil-cooled engine remains unchanged, pumping out 11.2 PS of power, but these additions make it more versatile for city and highway use.
Variants and Pricing
| Variant | Key Display/Features | Ex-Showroom Price (Delhi) |
|---|---|---|
| TFT Dual Disc | Full TFT cluster, 99+ connected features | ₹95,600 |
| SXC Dual Disc | Reverse LCD, 85+ connected features | ₹93,800 |
These prices position the new models above the base Raider 125 (starting at ~₹83,642), but they offer premium upgrades without jumping to higher-displacement bikes like the Apache RTR 160.
Bookings are open now at TVS dealerships, with offers like low down payments and savings up to ₹11,000 valid until October 31, 2025. If you’re in the market for a sporty 125cc with tech smarts, this refreshed Raider is a strong contender against rivals like the Honda SP 125 or Bajaj Pulsar NS125.
