Pickle Fork – What Are They?

[ad_1]

If you want to make the job easier, you should always make sure that you have the right tools for the job. If you’re going to replace a U-joint, tie-rod end, or ball joint, chances are you’ll need a pickling fork. you read that right That is not a typo.

Why would an automotive tool have such a silly name? There are two types of pickle forks. The automotive tool simply borrows its name for the actual one used in serving food. A pickle fork is a small fork for food that has two or more prongs. It is used to take out pickles from the jar without touching the pickle juice. An automotive pickle fork is very large and is used to remove tie-rod ends, ball joints, pitman arms, and steering knuckles.

The tines of this automotive tool are tapered. They are thin at the end and get very thick as you approach the handle. It acts like a wedge so you can remove a stubborn part of these.

I’d love to get a kit. It will include everything you need. Most kits have several different fork sizes that will interchange with the two different handles.

If you don’t have an air tool, you can use a hammer handle. It is made from steel so that it can withstand abuse. Slip it in and hit it with a hammer until it’s completely in place. Now you can use a heavy hammer and pickling fork to remove that stubborn part.

If you have air tools, most kits only have a handle made for the air hammer and you will be able to replace that worn part fast and easy!
