Mumbai, India – May 29, 2025 – In a recently resurfaced interview with Lehren, actress Priya Gill, known for her roles in Sirf Tum and Josh, shared that the most embarrassing moment of her film career was slapping Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan during the filming of Josh (2000). The incident occurred while shooting the song Apun Bola in Goa, where Gill’s character was required to slap Khan’s character, Max, a tough gang leader.
Gill recounted the experience, saying, “The most embarrassing thing I did in my entire film career was when I slapped Shah Rukh.” She explained that director Mansoor Khan urged her to deliver the slap with more intensity to convey the character’s anger. “Mansoor kept telling me, ‘Priya, it’s not coming with the kind of force that the girl is mad at him,’” Gill said. Initially hesitant, Gill struggled with the scene, as she was a huge fan of Khan, having admired him since his television days. “I was totally in awe of him,” she admitted, expressing her nervousness about working with such a prominent star.
Encouraged by both Khan and the director to hit him properly, Gill eventually delivered a forceful slap, leading to a stunned silence on set. “The camera kept rolling. I think the director forgot to say cut because of the reaction,” she recalled. The cameraman, KV, jokingly warned her, “Girls are going to hate you because you hit Shah Rukh.” Gill noted that Khan was supportive, guiding her on how to make the scene look authentic, which she described as a testament to his professionalism. “He was so sweet to us,” she added.
