Rokstone Agriculture Expands into US Equine Market with New Insurance Offering
August 19, 2025 – Rokstone Agriculture, a specialist agriculture and livestock managing general underwriter (MGU) and part of the international specialty insurance MGA Rokstone, has announced its expansion into the US equine market with the launch of a new equine mortality insurance product. This strategic move, backed by $1 million in admitted capacity from Professional Solutions Insurance Company (PSIC), marks a significant step in the company’s growth within the US agriculture sector.
The new equine mortality product, available in 19 US states, targets high-value horses, offering standard death coverage alongside optional major medical coverage with reimbursements ranging from $7,500 to $17,500 for premium sport horses. The product is designed to provide brokers with tailored, tech-enabled solutions, leveraging Rokstone’s digital quote and bind platform for faster turnaround times and customized coverage. The company’s in-house claims administrator, Verus Claims Management LLC, led by Nicole Pidcoe, ensures a seamless claims process with 24-hour response times and electronic check settlement capabilities.
Leading the equine division is Alexandra Choumitsky, recently promoted to equine underwriting manager. With eight years of experience in equine and livestock underwriting, Choumitsky specializes in sport horses and thoroughbreds, bringing deep expertise to the new product line. “This expansion allows us to protect the lives of horses and the financial investments of their owners,” said Eric Conklin, CEO of Rokstone Agriculture. “Our solutions cater to a wide variety of horse breeds and uses, supported by strong carrier relationships and niche underwriting expertise.”
Since its launch in 2021, Rokstone Agriculture has established itself as a leader in livestock coverage, offering five distinct product lines. The equine mortality offering builds on this foundation, addressing a gap in the US market where innovation and capacity have been limited. The division’s tech-driven approach, inspired by the success of Rokstone’s iFarm Underwriting in the UK, aims to disrupt traditional underwriting with its online quote and buy platform, a first for the US agriculture insurance market.

The company, which underwrites $1.1 billion in gross written premium across specialty lines, has already seen success with its US agriculture division, led by Conklin, a 20-year veteran formerly with AXA XL. The equine product is available in states including Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Texas, and Wisconsin, with plans to expand further.
