Sonam Raghuvanshi’s Father Defends Her Innocence in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case, Demands CBI Probe

Sonam Raghuvanshi’s Father Rejects Murder Charges, Calls for CBI Investigation

In a dramatic development in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, Devi Singh, father of Sonam Raghuvanshi, has staunchly defended his daughter, accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon. On June 9, 2025, Devi Singh dismissed the allegations as a “fabricated trap” by the Meghalaya Police, demanding a CBI probe to uncover the truth. Sonam, 24, surrendered at Nandganj police station in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on June 8, 2025, after being missing since May 23, when the couple vanished during their trip to Meghalaya.

Raja’s body was found in a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2, prompting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to arrest three suspects—Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Raj Singh Kushwaha—allegedly hired by Sonam. Meghalaya DGP I Nongrang claims Sonam planned the killing, supported by electronic evidence and witness testimonies. However, Devi Singh accused the police and Meghalaya CM of lying, stating, “My daughter is 100% innocent. She cannot do this.” He further alleged police negligence and involvement, urging Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene.

Sonam’s mother, Sangeeta, echoed these sentiments, rejecting the charges as baseless. Meanwhile, Raja’s family, while grieving, expressed skepticism but demanded harsh punishment if Sonam’s guilt is proven. The case has reignited social media debates, with some X users questioning the investigation’s integrity, while others condemn Sonam, referencing the viral “Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai” meme.

The investigation continues, with calls for transparency growing louder.
