Why don’t Americans flock to be healed?

[ad_1]

Miracles are happening today in churches and meeting rooms, even in America’s workplaces. But I’ve noticed one thing: Now people don’t rush to tell their friends. Furthermore, those who witness the miracle do not shout with glee as before.

I have seen miracles happen through my ministry and have seen some that happened while I was there. I, myself, was cured of an incurable spinal disease that had plagued me for about 15 years and was getting worse. Right before God healed me, I was walking with a cane, having sleepless nights, nights in pain, and thinking about a nursing home. I’ve seen cancer cured, leukemia, gold fillings, legs grow longer, hips come back into joint. The most incredible miracle of all, which I’ve seen dozens of times, was hurting lives that were healed—the kind that the recipient was never going to be the same again.

Recently, Coppell, Texas, had one of those days. In a beautiful home, 22 women, revivalists Larry and Corinne Silverman and I gathered to see what God would do there. Over a period of 5 hours, there were testimonies, anointed sermons, prayers, words of wisdom, prophecy, physical healing and intense inner healing. The presence of the father was visible. His daughters received his love and his power. Tears flowed freely when the Spirit flowed upon these dear sisters. At one point, as woman after woman came forward, I told Larry, “You can have your gold dust and gold teeth. I’ll take these changed lives any day.” Those women will run and tell others. They will testify by email, phone and in person about what their Lord has done in their living rooms in Coppell.

Last night, in my own living room, a lady from Crowley, Texas joined us. This woman was diagnosed with stage four uterine cancer and was sent home to die. When she first called me two months back, I told her that we will pray for her till she gets well. Last night was his 8th visit. I have seen the doctor’s report. She is getting better and better and with each visit the tumors are getting smaller and smaller. She looks great and her hair is growing back. Last night, it was glorious to see him heal himself.

What about your living room? Has your Christian experience been limited to sitting passively as a preacher and a band entertains once a week? Can you find scriptural proof that this is what Jesus died for and expects of you? In all honesty, my days of heating a pot are over. He can’t hold a candle to exorcisms, to see people healed and lives changed forever.

Time and again, we ask people to come to my house to pray for healing. Rarely does anyone come but intercessors, though we meet regardless and there is always something to pray for. Some who came and received ministry did not return. I have heard many times, “If God wants to heal me, He can do it right here in my house.” (Tell that to those who made great sacrifices to touch or receive Jesus.) I know people who were diagnosed with cancer who put all their faith in chemo treatments and insurance instead of coming in for prayer. . (I think they may have missed an episode of their favorite show.) Yes, God will use those things too…but healing prayer is cheap and easy!

More Fun!

I recently heard a story about a man who had a tremendous healing ministry. He once served at a venue where 15 people showed up. One woman recovered and threw her walker away. The next night, thirty people attended, mostly first time visitors. In Africa or China, there would be thousands. In America, we love glitz and glamour. We endow the minister with mansions and airplanes, while we ignore the one whose ministry is just as powerful, if not more so, than that found in small churches and living rooms. We judge books by their covers and equate one’s stage presence and glossy brochures with God’s anointing.

Don’t be cheated!

I digress… coming back to the point of this article: Why don’t Americans come to be healed?

A. We put all our faith in doctors, drugs, vitamins, and all those products that supposedly make us healthy (my wife, a registered nurse, just took a course called “Killer Bugs,” which The types of fatal infections are described (many at risk in US hospitals).

B. We have health insurance so we can afford the treatment more easily.

C. we’re screwed.

America is a giant Nazareth. Like that dusty little town, the place where Jesus grew up, we see signs of him every time we turn. A church building, a T-shirt, a fish on a car bumper, a dusty Bible on the dashboard… Jesus is everywhere. Imagine that you lived in Nazareth and were shopping in the market place. You see the 11-year-old Jesus walking through the crowd his father Joseph had just made. He is giving it to a customer. Later, while talking with another Nazarene, you see Jesus again, this time playing with some other children. Your friend says, “That’s Jesus..he sure is a decent kid…I guess you heard how his mother Mary claimed he got her pregnant…what a whore!”

Years later, when Jesus returned to town as a man – the Messiah – ready to serve anyone in need of his blessing, very few came. After all, it was just Jesus, the child of Mary. big deal. He was used to it. They were indifferent. quite satisfied. Those who came were healed…but very few came.

Sounds like Anytown, USA, eh?

In contrast, I have ministered to crowds in Pakistan, Kenya, and Uganda by telephone. By telephone, people were healed. Salvation took place and the Muslims converted. During the Uganda call, when I was ready to go to bed at 1:30, the minister on the other end said, “Pastor, people are still coming! They’re coming from every direction.” I asked, “Are…they driving? Do you see the car?” He replied, “No, we don’t have any cars. They’re wading in the rain through the bush. They’ll wait for you.” They told me that they expect to hear from me in two hours. What could I do? So, in two hours, I called him again and he translated another message. Again a miracle happened.

Not like many cities in the United States, eh?

There are places in America that are doing some press. We use the term “revival is crumbling”. (As my friend, Ed, says, “We can’t expect a revival when we’re not yet alive.”) You may have heard that God lit churches in Brownsville, Kansas City, and more recently, Lakeland. What is he doing in places like , Florida where Todd Bentley is ministering. But you hadn’t heard of living rooms in Coppell or Stephenville or Pflegerville or Carrollton — all Texas towns where I’ve seen God’s mighty hand in my children’s lives. These are places where living rooms were filled with people, “alive” as they encountered life itself, the person of Jesus Christ who still serves those who are hurt, if they come.

Get on board with what God is doing. Larry and Corinne Silverman are here in Texas right now and trust me, you could use their ministry. Hey, if it’s within 300 miles, Barbara and I can join them! In fact, we first met over email about two years ago. Then I realized that the Lord wanted me to minister to him in our Dallas House Church conference. To do this he moved from Florida to Texas.

Come, flock of God… come flock to be healed. Whether it’s your health, your emotions, your relationships, your finances, Jesus is still healing, working through the hands of committed men and women – an army of ordinary people – across the planet. In living rooms. Get on board with what God is doing! Like the two men who cut a whole slit in the roof so they could lower their sick friend’s bed, bring your friend into a house near you and see the glorious hand of God in action.

every blessing,
