Lexis King Confirms Serious Concussion from NXT House Show but Has Been Medically Cleared
WWE NXT star Lexis King has provided a positive update after suffering a concussion during a live event earlier this month.
The leader of the Birthright stable took a hard knee to the face during an eight-man tag team match at the NXT house show in Lakeland, Florida, on March 20, 2026. The impact left him visibly rocked, prompting officials to stop the match (which was ruled a no-contest after another injury to Elio LeFleur). King was not medically cleared in time for the March 24 episode of NXT, where commentator Vic Joseph noted his absence.
In a video posted to social media in the last 24 hours (as of March 30, 2026), Lexis King addressed fans directly and confirmed the injury details:
“Hey guys, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody who reached out and checked on me. And for those that don’t know, on March 20, I did suffer a really bad concussion. But we’re a little over a week out now and I’ve been cleared. I passed all the tests and I’m feeling better than ever.”
King emphasized the importance of safety in wrestling and expressed excitement about returning to action. He also teased upcoming appearances, including The Birthright’s first trip to Madison Square Garden, signaling that he expects to be back soon.
Timeline of the Injury and Recovery
- March 20: Knee to the face at NXT house show in Lakeland → Match stopped → Initial concern for concussion.
- March 24: Announced on NXT that King was not medically cleared to compete or appear.
- Late March: King reportedly felt better quickly, though WWE took a cautious approach with protocol.
- March 29–30: King confirms the concussion publicly and announces he has passed all tests and been cleared.
WWE’s concussion protocol is known to be strict, often requiring multiple steps and symptom-free periods before clearance. The fact that King has already been cleared just over a week later is encouraging, though wrestlers are typically monitored closely upon return.
Lexis King, the son of Brian Pillman (known as “The Loose Cannon”), has been a rising presence on NXT as the outspoken leader of Birthright alongside members like Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, and Uriah Connors. His absence briefly impacted storylines, including tag team tournament plans.
No official return date has been announced, but his cleared status suggests he could be back on NXT programming as early as this week or next, depending on creative plans.
Wrestling fans and fellow performers have sent well-wishes, and many are relieved the injury wasn’t more severe.
